Bangkok’s Best
Digital nomads (and aspiring digital nomads) – midweek’s here, and I’m dropping some heat to warm up your winters. Unless you’re in Thailand at the moment, like myself, then maybe bring a cool breeze.
Do You Know Your Passport’s Power?
First, click this to scope your passport’s power. My passport has 117 visa-free countries, what’s yours at? Also, did you know that France’s passport has the second-highest number of visa-free countries only behind Singapore? I sure didn’t.
This week, we’re tackling Wise’s latest fee dance, a visa tool that’s stupidly handy, and AI prompts to snag your next remote gig. No fluff, just the good stuff – let’s dive in.
One last thing before we move on — I’m seeing way too many digital nomads treating cafes like their personal workspace lately. Don’t camp out with one $2 coffee for 4 hours, sprawling over a table for 4 with your gear. Respect the spot – order a refill, tip decent, or hit a coworking joint like Workfrom. Everyone already has enough reasons to dislike digital nomads, don’t give them another.
Today’s Agenda:
Frosted Tips ❄️: Money apps, visa hacks, café manners.
Remote roles of the week 💻: Fresh gigs to bankroll your roam
Meet Leo - Nomad Diaries 📔
Pin It: Location of the week 🗺️: Málaga’s calling – so is the paella
Jam of the week 🎧
Frosted Tips of the Week:
More Options = Saving on Fees 💰 Wise tweaked its fees again – mid-range transfers now nudge up (think 0.5% to 0.7% on some currencies) while others dropped. Another reminder to have both Wise and Revolut and always go with the better rate depending on currency. Remember, they are free to sign up for and you get a slick card too.
ATM Trick 🏧: Abroad? Hit NO on their conversion rate – trust me. Your app or bank (e.g., Wise) beats it every time – saved me $10 on my last withdraw in Thailand yesterday.
Check Your Passport’s Juice🛃: Stumbled on VisaFreeList – plug in your passport, see its strength, and snag visa rules for any country fast. Free, no ads – found it trending on X. Pair it with wherenomadsgo.com for stay bookings – nomad life just got easier. I swear planning used to take hours, now it takes minutes.
Let AI Find Your Next Role☁️: Some of the most lucrative roles aren’t hanging out Indeed or ZipRecruiter, they’re hiding on the company’s page.
