So, you want to be a digital nomad, eh?

here's how we make that possible

somewhere hot with a hot latte, digital nomading

You spoke, I listened.

With a wave of new subscribers, I’ve learned that many of you are brand new to the digital nomad world or planning to transition to it.

This week’s issue is for you.

The next 5 minutes will give you clear, actionable steps to help make that possible.

Read carefully. I’m dropping crucial links along the way, and if something doesn’t make sense? Hit reply—I’ve got you.

If you’re new here, last week’s issue had two great hacks on how to make digital nomad life wayyyy easier + other exciting nomad updates!

Today’s Agenda Is Different:

  • 3 steps to crack a remote role 💻

  • Frosted Tips ❄️

  • Nike Ad ✔️

  • Best locations for new digital nomads 🗺️

  • Song of the week 🎧The two biggest hacks to thrive as a digital nomad are surprisingly simple—and life-changing.

1) Build skills that matter

If your current role can go remote but isn’t yet? Skip to step 2.

If not, listen up—you need an in-demand skill.

Here’s how to find out what skills are worth your time:

  • Search for 5+ junior remote roles that interest you (job websites on step 2)

  • Copy their job descriptions.

  • Paste them into ChatGPT or Perplexity one at a time and ask: “What are the top 3 required skills across these roles?”

Boom. You’ve got a clear target.

Now, start learning. There’s no excuse with today’s free resources:

  • YouTube is your best friend. (Whatever skill you need, there’s a tutorial set for it).

  • Use ChatGPT as a personal tutor—ask it for learning paths or project ideas to build hands-on experience.

1-2 hours of learning, 5 days a week. This compounds.

Top of the dome, skills that matter:

2) Find your remote role

  • WeWorkRemotely - Great for tech & marketing roles

  • RemoteOk - Tech, business, and marketing roles

  • WellFound - Startups looking for all roles

  • Remote.com - Remote roles in business, tech, and HR

  • NoDesk.co - Find golden nuggets here

  • Inquire to hybrid-roles and ask if they will consider remote roles

  • This newsletter - I post 3 fresh remote roles every week

Don’t underestimate LinkedIn:

  1. Go to LinkedIn Jobs.

  2. Filter location to: Remote.

  3. Find the role, locate the hiring manager, and send a detailed, tailored message highlighting why you’re the perfect fit.

Extra Tip: Use Chatgpt to find fresh job posts or new roles that may fit. Here’s the prompt:

"Find me up-to-date remote job listings that match someone with [X] year of experience in [Industry/Field] and skills in [Skill X], [Skill Y], and [Skill Z]. Include job titles, company names, and links to apply. Focus on [entry-level or junior roles]. Highlight positions that allow international applicants or are open to candidates with [minimal experience]."

3) Tailor your resume for EVERY role you apply for

Your resume will be scanned by an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) before reaching human eyes. Follow these steps to ensure it passes:

  1. Use Simple Formatting

    • Here’s a proven resume template that works for top companies. Copy it & bookmark it. This format landed me multiple interviews and a six-figure salary remote role.

    • Keep it 1-page, no images or fancy formatting for US-Roles.

  2. Focus on Achievements, Not Tasks

    • “Managed email marketing campaigns.”

    • “Increased email click-through rates by 25% through A/B testing.”

  3. Run the Job Description Through AI

    • Use ChatGPT or a tool like Resume.co to identify the exact keywords to include.

Prompt to Perfect Your Resume:
"Here’s my resume: [Paste Resume]. I’m applying for [Job Title] at [Company Name]. Analyze this job description: [Paste JD]. Rewrite my resume to align with the role, using relevant keywords and highlighting measurable achievements."

Pro Tip: Expect rejections. It’s part of the process. If it takes 200 applications to live your dream, that’s the cost of entry. Don’t quit.

If you have a resume you want an extra set of eyes on, feel free to shoot it over for feedback.

Frosted Tips of the Week:

  •  Put It Into Practice: Don't just learn—do. Apply what you're learning in real time.

    • Coding? Share your progress on X.com. (amazing community there to connect with)

    • Copywriting? Publish on Medium.com and pitch to publications.

    • Media buying? Run a test campaign with Meta Ads.
The best way to learn is by building experience as you go.

  • Remote Work isn’t the only way: If landing a remote role is proving tricky, remember—the world is full of alternatives. Consider programs like Working Holiday Visas to work while you travel, letting you earn as you explore new corners of the world.

📍Pin It: Three Inviting Places For New Digital Nomads

  1. Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭

  2. Medellín, Colombia 🇨🇴

  3. Valencia, Spain 🇪🇸

Each location has a bustling DN community, plenty of co-livings & co-workings, and Facebook groups where you can connect with other DNs!

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Nomad Diaries: Marco

  • Home City/Country: Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹

  • Current Base: Medellín, Colombia

  • Role/Profession: UX Designer & Illustrator

  • # of Years as a Digital Nomad: 4

“Excited to share a little bit about my DN journey! I’m Marco, 29 years old, and have been working remotely since 2020. I started this lifestyle as a way to escape burnout and reconnect with my creative flow. Medellín has been home for the last six months, and I’m loving every minute.”

Why Medellín? It’s the perfect creative recharge. The city is surrounded by lush mountains, which gives me a daily dose of inspiration, and the café culture here? Top-tier for sketching out ideas.

Biggest Digital Nomad Hack? Hmmm–Subscribing to this newsletter obviously haha. Or maybe being an extrovert.

Biggest DN f*ck up? Peru 2022, booking an Airbnb in Lima for an authentic experience without doing any research on the neighbourhood. I was robbed of my Macbook and iPhone.

Fave destination: Kyoto, Japan.

Least fave: I would probably not revisit London. The weather was grey, the food was bland, and it was far too expensive. For the price I paid, I could have spent it in far nicer places. I hope your UK readers aren’t offended by this.

Headphones on, house music set loaded, you locked in. Jam of the week is here.

In one month, we’ll announce the winner of the Polaroid Digital Camera giveaway! 🎉

Want extra entries? Easy. Share this newsletter with a digital nomad friend OR simply reply back with a photo of your current DN location!

You made it to the end again, legend.

Appreciate you, stay frosty.

Until next time,
